San Sebastián Tourism

San Sebastian is one of the most important touristic cities in Cantabria. In 2016, the number of tourists increased as the city was appointed European Capital of Culture. Both tourist offices, one located at the Boulevard and the other one at the North Station, only used basic details obtained from tourists. However, they have recognized that certain information such as the real inflow to the offices (currently they have available services information at the counter), occupancy and stay in different points of interest (exterior maps, shop windows, etc.,) could let Donostia’s Tourism improve and adequate the services according to their demand. In this sense, the Councillorship of Economic Development, through their Tourism Department, is considering a display of sensors that could gather information automatically to be monitored in real time for their subsequent management.
