Every 25 July, Villanueva de la Cañada celebrates its patron saint festivities in honour of St. James the Apostle, an event that brings together thousands of people every year, making it the most important event in the municipality. To manage and control the number of attendees, the Town Hall implemented an innovative system with the collaboration of Dinycon, which installed four non-intrusive 3D stereoscopic sensors and two monitors at the entrance of the main venue. This system allowed the organisers to monitor in real time the flow of people at the event, facilitating crucial decisions, such as temporary closures to avoid crowds, and ensuring better planning for future celebrations.
