DINYCON SISTEMAS LEADS THE HAZITEK PROJECT - RESAC-OFF
Dinycon Sistemas is leading an innovative project to detect undertow currents on beaches based on deep learning.
The RESAC-OFF project is led by the company Dinycon Sistemas SL, and TEKNIKER participates as a Centre of the Basque Science and Technology Network (RVCT).
RESAC-OFF aims to increase beach safety by reducing the numerous cases of rescues and drownings caused by undertow currents, through perception systems, image processing based on advanced deep learning techniques and alarm management for early intervention.
The consortium thus formed by the company and the RVCT centre form a highly complementary and multidisciplinary group with extensive experience, which will enable the creation of synergies between them and the increase of knowledge and which will guarantee the achievement of the different objectives set out in RESAC-OFF and, consequently, the success in the achievement of the main objectives of the project:
- To increase beach safety by reducing the numerous cases of rescues and drownings caused by undertow currents, by means of sensing systems.
- Image processing based on advanced deep learning techniques.
- Alarm management for early intervention.
- Reduce the number of deaths occurring on monitored beaches as well as on unmonitored beaches.
- Continuous monitoring of beaches 365 days a year.
The undertow current detection project is clearly framed within the strategic priority of Territories of Opportunity, and more specifically in the Sustainable Cities opportunity, as beach monitoring is a social, economic and technological challenge for detecting undertow currents to prevent death or rescue on beaches.
The RESAC-OFF project will use Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G technologies and Cybersecurity. Within the field of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, the project will work with artificial vision and machine learning with deep learning models.
The development of the project itself will allow the acquisition of knowledge in the development of interoperable services to promote a set of innovative applications and services to citizens or other companies.
