ALERTUM. Innovative competitive industrial research project aimed at developing new products.

Hazitek 2020-2022 Competitive in Cooperation, with the participation of four companies and the Tecnalia Technology Centre of the Basque Science and Technology Network.

The ALERTUM project is led by the company EUPRAXIA with the participation of the companies DINYCON SISTEMAS, LEYCOLAN and GITMA. Getxo City Council showed its interest in this project and offers the space for its validation.

TECNALIA is participating as a Basque Science and Technology Network Centre (RVCT).

The consortium thus formed by the FOUR companies and Tecnalia, form a highly complementary and multidisciplinary group with extensive experience, which will enable the creation of synergies between them and the increase of knowledge and which will guarantee the achievement of the different objectives set out in ALERTUM and, consequently, the success in achieving the main objectives of the project, which are set out in this brief summary:

In the months and years to coming, at least until the COVID-19 vaccine is developed and fully accessible, cities should contribute to normalising urban activities as much as possible, while ensuring the health, safety and social well-being of their inhabitants and visitors.

In relation to public space and pedestrian mobility, it is necessary to ensure that the recommended distances between people can be maintained. To this end, municipalities require tools to monitor these flows and make quick decisions to adapt the available public space.

The aim is to ensure social distancing and safe pedestrian mobility in public spaces with real-time data, alerts and tactical urban planning measures through smart street furniture and physical actuators.

  • Development of a software for counting users in public spaces and detecting agglomerations.
  • Development of an automated inspection system in the area of interest, providing data and statistics on the flow and occupancy of the area.

The project will develop and validate the software on a laboratory scale, then on a real level in an area of the city, integrating it with the management platform.

All this will be translated in strengthening the business line thanks to the development of the new product, with the consequent creation of new jobs, derived from the increase of the competitiveness of the companies participating in the project, as well as in the diversification and in the increase of the competitiveness of the companies that implement the new developed system.
